Our August workshops were a hit!

We are proud to share that our August workshop programme was a success!

Parents in the local community fed back to us about how much they had enjoyed the blend of science and art at each of the workshops, and how their children had loved learning new artistic techniques and processes alongside engaging in nature. Lots of attendees asked for more workshops in the future; great news for us!

We observed strong community cohesion at our workshops, with people coming from all different backgrounds sharing materials, chatting and getting to know one another whilst exploring and creating their biodiversity themed art works.

One of the participants’ favourite workshops was the Beautiful Beetles Paper Marbling workshop at Highfields Centre. This workshop was calm and focussed, yet prolific! Many attendees went home with around 7 – 10 pages of hand marbled paper each! Next time, we would love to show people how to marble with 3D items too.

Another favourite was the Beautiful Beetles Screen Printing workshop at Rally House. Attendees were able to bring their own garments to print onto, and the final results were absolutely fantastic. We used embroidery hoops and old tights to create make-shift screens to print with. It was great fun. In the photo you can see the range of beautifully designed and carefully printed garments that our participant Celio made. Well done Celio, and to everyone that attended and created something with us in August.

Next, onto our workshops in Melton Mowbray at the Country Park café, and our outdoor workshops in Leicester parks. You can find all the information about these upcoming workshops for all the family here and book onto them with our webform.
